FAQs
Find answers to our customers' commonly asked questions.
A 3-in-1 tap offers three different water temperature settings:
- Regular hot water (via a standard mixer)
- Regular cold water (via a standard mixer)
- Filtered boiling water
These versatile hot water taps are ideal for kitchens in homes of all sizes, offering unrivalled convenience when it comes to cooking, drinking and cleaning.
A boiling water tap works by utilising an electric-powered boiler unit (tank) which is typically fitted in the under-sink cupboard. The compact boiler unit heats and stores water at an assigned temperature, releasing it instantly when the boiling water function is activated on the tap handle.
Afterwards, it refills to full capacity with filtered water and heats up to the assigned temperature again. Our standard insulated boiler tank holds 2.4 litres - enough for 6-7 cups of boiling water. Thanks to its compact size, it can easily fit into most cupboards. For larger households, you can upgrade your tank capacity to 4 litres for just £99.
Every one of our taps is designed to be inherently cost-effective to run. By integrating insulated materials and energy-efficient tech into its design, we ensure that you won't be paying over the odds when it comes to your energy bills. In fact, in some situations our boiling water taps are cheaper to run than traditional kettles, costing just 10-15p per day to run versus the 3-4p per boil of a kettle.
Our taps are designed to be simple to install, requiring only basic plumbing knowledge and tools. We provide the fittings and everything else you need to get up and running, including a range of videos that demonstrate how to install your new tap. If you aren't confident, we recommend hiring a plumber to manage the installation - it should only take an hour or so if done correctly. Our team is also on hand to answer any questions you might have about the process.
We understand the concern around safety, particularly for parents with young children. However, our taps are rigorously tested and have a number of safety features designed to minimise the risk of injury. These include a spout with insulation that prevents it from becoming scalding hot and a child-safe spring lock that turns the boiling water function off when not in use. Compared to kettles, which are easily knocked and dropped, many parents find a hot water tap to be a safer alternative.
