What Is a Chilled and Boiling Water Tap?
A chilled and boiling water tap provides:
- 98°C near boiling water
- Filtered chilled water at 4°C
- Standard hot and cold mixer function
- Safety activation
Unlike standard 4 in 1 taps, these models include or are compatible with a dedicated chiller unit, giving you genuine ice cold filtered water directly from the tap.
It removes the need for kettles, bottled water and filter jugs while keeping worktops clear and kitchens clutter free.
Digital Control and Built In Safety
All models in this category use intuitive control to prevent accidental activation. Boiling water requires a deliberate press and hold function, with the Sapphire range’s illuminated indicators showing when boiling or chilled water is selected.
Compact 2.4 litre digital boiler tanks fit neatly inside standard cupboards and automatically refill and reheat as water is used. Chiller units integrate seamlessly beneath the sink to deliver consistent cold filtered water at 4°C.

A 4-in-1 tap typically has four functions:
- Mains cold water
- Mains hot water
- Filtered boiling water
- Filtered chilled water
The main difference between Quantum Chilled and the standard Quantum 4-in-1 is the temperature of the filtered cold water. Quantum Chilled dispenses this at an ice-cold 4°C, while the Quantum 4-in-1 dispenses it at the same temperature as your mains water, which is typically between 12 and 15°C. This makes Quantum Chilled a more diverse boiling water tap, offering a wider range of temperatures from 4 to 98°C.
Quantum Chilled boasts four different functions and temperatures:
- Mains cold water - typically between 12 and 15°C
- Mains hot water - typically between 45 and 55°C
- Filtered boiling water - 98°C. The temperature of this function can be adjusted on the touch-screen tank, with various settings between 75 and 98°C
- Filtered chilled water - 4°C

Our instant boiling water taps work thanks to a boiler tank (supplied with every tap) that is fitted, typically below the kitchen sink. This boiler tank takes in mains water and heats it to your desired temperature, keeping it there consistently until the handle is turned and the water is released through the tap. The Quantum Chilled also comes with a chiller unit to deliver ice-cold water, while standard hot and cold mains water is delivered through its mixer function that flows directly from your water supply.
